Having been in operation for almost 30 years, SPL has evolved from humble beginnings to becoming a leading Queensland company specialising in innovative, second to none, world-class security solutions.
Founded in 1990 by Managing Director Michael Valitutti, SPL started off as a Mobile Locksmith Service from a purpose fitted van in Surfers Paradise. In 1999 Michael took on his first partner, Vince Todarello, along with several employees. Shortly after the Electronics Division was born.
In the year 2000, the company expanded again and introduced an Architectural Hardware division supplying and fitting some of the worlds most trusted brands, to some of the South East Queensland’s most prestigious developments.
In 2001 Michael and Vince welcomed Vince Ransom as the third partner in the business.
In 2003 the accelerated growth of SPL was recognised by the Business Review Weekly magazine, and was featured as one of Australia’s fastest growing companies - position 27 (2003) and position 45 (2004).

The building hosts a state-of-the-art showroom, boardroom and impressive staff amenities, and was awarded “best renovated building design under $2 million” by the Master Builders Association.
In the mid 2000’s as the business continued to expand and the company developed expertise in electronic security, SPL won their first landmark contract - Sunland’s prestige two tower developments Circle on Cavill. Success has continued over the years with them gaining rights to a host of other high-profile constructions in including The Commonwealth Games Village and the popular Q1 hotel in Surfers Paradise.
